FH JOANNEUM, partners in the IPICA project, just published the report "Barriers in the knowledge transfer chain & research to market process in the Caribbean”. The report identifies potential loopholes and main barriers in the knowledge-transfer process of selected Caribbean Countries (Barbados, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Trinidad&Tobago). After outlining the importance as well as potential barriers of Knowledge Transfer and Innovation for economic development in general, the competitiveness and entrepreneurship activities of the selected countries are analyzed. A special focus is dedicated on Spin-Offs as an approach to foster Knowledge Transfer, to which specific measures are introduced.
